Our Story
Hallowell House, a unique blend of history, comfort, and scenic beauty. Overlooking the Kennebec River and just steps from downtown Hallowell, our rooms and apartments offer the perfect balance of nature and city life, with trails, live music, and top-notch dining nearby. Originally built in the 1850s, our property includes the Hallowell Historic Rooming House, the Old School House, and the Widow Avery House. Each space retains its historic charm while providing modern amenities, from private rooms and shared kitchens to a Finnish sauna, year-round hot tub, and a full gym. Guests can also enjoy complimentary bikes for the nearby Kennebec River Rail Trail, as well as kayaks and paddleboards for river adventures.
